Our Chocolate & Chili Sourdough Loaf is not a spicy bread. It’s our chocolate sourdough — made with 70% dark chocolate and unsweetened cacao, finished with a whisper of chili for balance.
Built on a naturally fermented base of flour, water, salt, and time, this loaf carries deep cocoa flavor without sweetness. The dark chocolate remains front and center, while the chili quietly shifts the profile for those who find chocolate on its own a little too much. It doesn’t add heat or intensity — it adds contrast.
The effect is subtle and delayed. Nothing announces itself on the first bite. Only after the slice is finished does a gentle warmth appear, rounding the chocolate and lifting it rather than competing with it. More than once, the reaction has been hesitation followed by surprise — and then a quiet “wow”.
Long fermentation keeps everything composed: a dark, aromatic crust, a soft, open crumb, and chocolate woven evenly throughout. The result feels familiar at first and unexpectedly good a moment later.
